DERON M. BARNES

Founder and CEO

Mr. Barnes is the founder and chief executive officer of Vision Investment Group LLC, a minority-owned residential and commercial real estate development company. He provides oversight to every aspect of Vision Investment Group LLC's core functions.

In his early years, Deron developed an affinity for real estate after migrating from Guyana to East Orange, NJ in 2001. In East Orange and adjacent cities, he witnessed firsthand the effects of vacant and dilapidated buildings on the inner cities and took special interest in becoming apart of the solution. He went on to attend Rutgers University, and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Science degree  in Civil Engineering. After graduation, he worked as a structural engineer for an engineering firm on Wall St; providing structural evaluation and inspection. Mr. Barnes later acquired his Professional Engineering license, and currently holds license in NJ, NY, MD and DE. Deron leverages his engineering background to assess dilapidated properties in the acquisition process, and to facilitate the rehabilitation process of acquired properties.
